SARASOTA, Fla. — Myakka River State Park has been a favorite destination for artists for decades, and to show their appreciation, many of the areas finest artists will be selling their works at a silent auction at the second annual “Wild: Artists & Animals of Myakka” benefit, reported the Bradenton Herald.
The artwork will be on display from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. for free on Saturday, and the benefit will take place on Sunday.
The Friends of Myakka River are hosting the event, and regularly partner with the Florida Park Service to assist, protect, restore and preserve the 57 square miles of wetlands, prairies and woodlands.
Fifty percent of all the artwork sales this weekend will go to the group.
